I attended the Uni
versity of Manchester as an on-campus student for the year ’12-’13. I enrolled on the MA taught program Digital Technologies, Communication, and Education (DTCE).
Directly after finishing my first semester, I received an interesting job opportunity back in Beirut. I took chances, left Manchester and moved back as the Director of The Media and Digital Literacy Academy of Beirut .
I am still a student at UoM but now as a distant learner.
I will work closely with the academy chair and be responsible for running the day-to-day work of the academy, coordinating tasks, and executing plans.
The Academy for Advancement of Digital and Media Literacy Education aims to help vitalize and advance digital and media literacy education in the Arab East region, particularly Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria.
The academy will act as an incubator of innovative ideas and a hub for a network of regional universities and media educators. We hope that faculty members participating in the academy will carry back the knowledge and curricula to their universities, schools, and countries, while students simultaneously benefit from the teaching and training.
